Electric Plant
Also known as The Electric Plant Company, Electric Plant Co
Makes electrodes and low-cost sensors that record a living plant's electrical signals from its stem or trunk, and Bombadil, a model trained on those signals across about a hundred species that estimates leaf stress measures such as photosynthetic efficiency and water stress, for farming, forestry and plant care.

Electric Plant's Bombadil learns plants' electrical signals from 4 million sensor-hours across 100 species, and follows hand-measured leaf stress with correlations of 0.27 to 0.71
Earlier models of plant electrical signals were each trained for one task, usually on one species. One model that carries across species would let a grower read a crop nobody has labelled. On species left out of training the estimates still moved with the readings, less closely, and on plants stressed by salt or a herbicide, which the model never saw labelled, they shifted the way the literature expects.
Research entries are the timeline's graded entries that name this company. A level grades one claim, not the company, and a blank can mean the record has not caught up rather than that nothing was published.
