Gaurav Tewari is the founder and Managing Partner of Omega Venture Partners, a Silicon Valley venture firm in Palo Alto that invests in AI, machine learning, data, automation and intelligent software. Omega's portfolio page includes Centaur Labs, a data-labeling platform for healthcare AI, and Elemental Machines, which digitizes the operations of life-sciences labs. Before Omega he was a Managing Director at Citicorp Ventures, leading its technology investing, and a Principal at Highland Capital; Global Venturing reported in October 2011 that he joined SAP Ventures as a director. He earlier worked at Microsoft, IBM and McKinsey. He holds an MBA from Wharton, where he graduated valedictorian, and bachelor's and master's degrees in computer science from MIT. Omega's site says he advises the U.S. Department of State on AI and AI policy.
