About
Simon Kohl is founder and CEO of Latent Labs, which builds generative models for protein design. At DeepMind he co-developed AlphaFold2, built its pLDDT confidence score, and then started and co-led the protein design team; he also set up DeepMind's wet lab at the Francis Crick Institute. Before DeepMind he was a PhD student at the German Cancer Research Center in Heidelberg, working on generative models for medical image segmentation.
