Rounds and research, on one timeline

  1. 2026-10-15
    Research

    Level 2 · Computed

Terray and NVIDIA fine-tune a Nemotron model to read chemical reaction diagrams, setting a new best on the RxnCaption benchmark

Synthesis planners like Terray's own TerraSynth need training data drawn from how chemists actually describe routes, and most of that sits locked in diagram form in papers. A model that parses those diagrams turns the literature into structured reaction data a planner can learn from, and lets an agent read a chemical document on the fly. The gain over the prior best is modest (about four F1 points), but it is on a public benchmark scored with the original authors' code.

Level 4 · Tested in the physical world

Terray's TerraSynth designs molecules with a route to make them, and in Terray's own projects chemists made half its compounds in 4 weeks instead of 8

Making a molecule is the slowest step in drug design, and AI designs often stall there. This is the company's own post, not a paper: the project comparison is before and after a date cutoff, not randomised, over 244 compounds, and the check that designs stay potent used Terray's own model, not an assay.

    Research

    Level 2 · Computed

    Terray's TerraBind, a coarse-structure model, beats Boltz-2 by about 20% on binding-affinity correlation and runs 26x faster

Screening millions of molecules needs a cheap model. These are software scores, and the 18-assay set is proprietary, so nobody outside can rerun it.

Research entries are the timeline's graded entries that name this company. A level grades one claim, not the company, and a blank can mean the record has not caught up rather than that nothing was published.
